SAU Alumna & Senior WakeMed Executive Returns to Campus

On April 13th, 2022, Dr. Jeronica Goodwin, ’98, returned to her alma mater, Saint Augustine’s University (SAU), to meet with students in the School of Sciences, Mathematics, and Allied Health. Dr. Goodwin graduated from SAU with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Human Resources and Chief People Officer at WakeMed Hospitals. While on campus, Dr. Goodwin addressed student and post-graduation employment opportunities at WakeMed Hospitals to prepare undergraduate scholars from all majors within the school for their careers in healthcare. In addition, Dr. Goodwin strongly encouraged students to complete medical assisting and phlebotomy certification programs while pursuing their B.S. degree at Saint Augustine’s University. Toward the end, Dr. Goodwin briefly spoke about the shared history of St. Agnes Hospital and WakeMed Hospitals, along with the potential partnerships and current discussions in the health sciences. Overall, students came enlightened about ways to engage with WakeMed Hospitals while matriculating at SAU and upon degree completion.
