New Bern Alliance committee met at SAU
Interim President Everett B. Ward, Ph.D. hosted the New Bern Avenue Corridor Alliance (NBACA) committee meeting November 13 on campus. Dr. Ward serves as member of the Board of Directors.
The NBACA consists of a committed group of stakeholders, board of directors and board of advisors with the goal of assuring timely construction of essential infrastructure improvements along New Bern Avenue to the City of Raleigh from I-440 to Swain Street. The NBACA, which is a Section 501 (c) (3) public charity, meets regularly to discuss corridor initiatives and engage citizens, neighborhoods, businesses and institutions impacted by New Bern Avenue to:
- Advocate for corridor awareness;
- Oversee and calibrate public input;
- Seek public/private funding based on prioritization of project-by-project recommendations;
- Assist with review of corridor design; and
- Coordinate with city staff to incorporate corridor improvements.
