Omar Johnson wins men's 100-meter dash

Omar Johnson (Jr./St. Ann, Jamaica) won the men’s 100-meter dash in the Hampton Relays outdoor track and field meet at Armstrong Stadium on Saturday, April 11.

Johnson crossed the finish line first in an NCAA Division II provisional time of 10.42 seconds. Teammate Burkheart Ellis, Jr. (Jr./Raleigh, NC) was second in a provisional time of 10.49 seconds.

In other highlights, Samantha Woodburn (Jr./St. Catherine, Jamaica) placed fourth in the women’s 200-meter dash in a provisional time of 23.93 seconds, and Shamia Lassiter (Jr./Chesapeake, VA) finished fourth in the women’s 100-meter hurdles in a provisional time of 14.16 seconds. Amenze Uhunmwangho (Fr./New Jersey) was second in the women’s long jump with a provisional leap of 5.79 meters.
