Standouts Quincy January (So./Atlanta, GA) and Anthony Gaskins (Jr./Greenville, NC) of Saint Augustine's University were named to the 2016 BOXTOROW Division II All-America men's basketball teams this week.

January was placed on the first team and Gaskins made the second team. The dynamic duo were among 14 players selected from historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) to the All-America squads.

Both players led the Falcons to a second-place finish in the CIAA Southern Division and a bye in the conference tournament this season. The Falcons were picked fourth in the division in the preseason.

January, a 6-foot-7 high-flying forward, built off last season's freshman campaign when he was named CIAA Rookie of the Year. This season, he led the conference in rebounding average (10.0) to win CIAA Defensive Player of the Year. An All-CIAA selection, January was the only player in the league to average a double-double in points (16.0) and rebounds. He ranked eighth nationally in Division II with 16 double-doubles.

January is known for his acrobatic dunks but he displayed offensive moves in the paint and was a terror on the backboards this season. The sophomore forward ranked fourth in the CIAA in field goal percentage (59.5) and first in free throw attempts (230). Nationally, he ranked ninth in offensive rebounds (3.67) and 17th in free throw attempts and rebounds per game in Division II. He ranked 23rd in Division II in field goal percentage.

Gaskins overcame an early-season injury to become one of the most productive guards in the CIAA this season. He led the Falcons in points per game (16.7) and ranked third in the conference in three-pointers made (62).

The 6-foot-1 junior guard was at his best in clutch situations. He drilled game-winning three-pointers as time expired in thrilling victories over crosstown rival Shaw University and Winston-Salem State University. Against Shaw, Gaskins hit a running bank shot after crossing midcourt to give the Falcons a 93-90 double overtime win. In the CIAA Tournament, he barely missed on a halfcourt shot at the buzzer in a 73-71 overtime quarterfinal loss to Bowie State University. Despite the defeat, Gaskins was named to the CIAA All-Tournament team for scoring a game-high 28 points.
